Current purpose of this blog

The current purpose of this blog is to interact with J.R.R. Tolkien's character Olórin. Olórin is also known as Gandalf in Middle Earth.

Gandalf is a fascinating character for study, especially for me as a pastor. He spends his roughly 2,000 years in Middle Earth homeless, wifeless, and focused on his purpose: to aid the free peoples of Middle Earth against Sauron.

Among the free peoples that he helps, there are a select few that we know he tutored. His tutelage had certain characteristics that have import for the role of pastor in the lives of people.

This is what I will look at and invite you the reader to look at with me.
